Package meboot updated to version 1.1-1 with previous version 1.0-2 dated 2009-11-20

Author: Hrishikesh D. Vinod and Javier López-de-Lacalle
Title: Maximum Entropy Bootstrap for Time Series
Description: This package performs maximum entropy density based dependent data bootstrap. An algorithm is provided to create a population of time series (ensemble) without assuming stationarity. The reference paper (Vinod, H.D., 2004) explains how the algorithm satisfies the ergodic theorem and the central limit theorem.

Package digest updated to version 0.4.2 with previous version 0.4.1 dated 2009-09-24

Author: Dirk Eddelbuettel with contributions by Antoine Lucas, Jarek Tuszynski, Henrik Bengtsson and Simon Urbanek
Title: Create cryptographic hash digests of R objects
Description: The digest package provides functions for the creation of `hash' digests of arbitrary R objects using the md5, sha-1, sha-256 and crc32 algorithms permitting easy comparison of R language objects. The md5 algorithm by Ron Rivest is specified in RFC 1321, the SHA-1 and SHA-256 algorithms are specified in FIPS-180-1 and FIPS-180-2, and the crc32 algorithm is described in ftp://ftp.rocksoft.com/cliens/rocksoft/papers/crc_v3.txt. For md5, sha-1 and sha-256, this packages uses small standalone implementations that were provided by Christophe Devine. For crc32, code from the zlib library is used. Please note that this package is not meant to be deployed for cryptographic purposes for which more comprehensive (and widely tested) libraries such as OpenSSL should be used.

Package bipartite updated to version 1.05 with previous version 1.03 dated 2009-11-05

Author: Carsten F. Dormann and Bernd Gruber, with additional code from Mariano Devoto, Jochen Fruend, Jose Iriondo and Diego Vazquez, also based on C-code developed by Nils Bluethgen and by Miguel Rodriguez-Girones.
Title: Visualising bipartite networks and calculating some ecological indices.
Description: Bipartite provides functions to viualise webs and calculate a series of indices commonly used to describe pattern in ecological webs. It focusses on webs consisting of only two trophic levels, e.g. pollination webs or predator-prey-webs. Visualisation is important to get an idea of what we are actually looking at, while the indices summarise different aspects of the webs topology.

Package RTisean updated to version 3.0.11 with previous version 3.0.10 dated 2009-02-09

Author: TISEAN authors: Rainer Hegger, Holger Kantz, Thomas Schreiber. R interface code by Antonio, Fabio Di Narzo, R documentation and examples by Gianluca Gazzola
Title: R interface to Tisean algorithms
Description: Algorithms for time series analysis from nonlinear dynamical systems theory originally made available by Rainer Hegger, Holger Kantz and Thomas Schreiber at the site http://www.mpipks-dresden.mpg.de/~tisean/ . A related R package (tseriesChaos by Antonio, Fabio Di Narzo) contains rewritten versions of a few of the TISEAN algorithms. The intention of the present package is to use the TISEAN routines from within R with no need of manual importing/exporting. It is in a beta version state, though most of the functions should be usable. Correspondence should be sent to either Marji Lines, lines@dss.uniud.it, or to the current maintainer of the package. This package only contains R interface code. It requires that you have the Tisean-3.0.1 algorithms available on your computer.

Package CORElearn updated to version 0.9.24 with previous version 0.9.22 dated 2009-09-20

Author: Marko Robnik-Sikonja , Petr Savicky
Title: CORElearn - classification, regression, feature evaluation and ordinal evaluation
Description: CORElearn is machine learning suite ported to R from standalone C++ package. It contains several model learning techniques in classification and regression, for example classification and regression trees with optional constructive induction and models in the leafs, random forests, kNN, naive Bayes, and locally weighted regression. It is especially strong in feature evaluation algorithms where it contains several variants of Relief algorithm and many impurity based attribute evaluation functions, e.g., Gini, information gain, MDL, DKM, ... Its additional strength is ordEval algorithm and its visualization used for ordinal features and class. The top level documentation is reachable through ?CORElearn.

New package Boruta with initial version 1.0
Package: Boruta
Title: Boruta -- a tool for finding significant attributes in information systems
Version: 1.0
Date: 2009-07-30
Depends: R (>= 2.0.0), randomForest
Suggests: mlbench
Author: Algorithm by Witold R. Rudnicki , R implementation by Miron B. Kursa .
Description: Boruta is a feature selection algorithm based on a randomForest predictor. It selects the full set of all important attributes by comparing original attributes importance with datum importance of their randomised copies.

Package AICcmodavg updated to version 1.05 with previous version 1.04 dated 2009-11-12

Author: Marc J. Mazerolle . Special thanks to T. Ergon for the original idea of storing candidate models in a list.
Title: Model selection and multimodel inference based on (Q)AIC(c)
Description: This package includes functions to create model selection tables based on Akaike's information criterion (AIC) and the second-order AIC (AICc), as well as their quasi-likelihood counterparts (QAIC, QAICc). Tables are printed with delta AIC and Akaike weights. The package also includes functions to conduct model averaging (multimodel inference) for a given parameter of interest or predicted values. Other handy functions enable the computation of relative variable importance, evidence ratios, and confidence sets for the best model. The present version works with linear models ('lm' class), generalized linear models ('glm' class), linear mixed models ('lme' class), multinomial and ordinal logistic regressions ('multinom' and 'polr' classes).
